AirPods are the completely wireless earbuds launched by Apple in late 2016. The wired version was already loved by many, and the latest wireless option lived up to the hype and became a go-to option for many people looking for convenient earbuds. But, how do you charge them while on the go?
They do come with a nice little case that charges them, but what do you do when you need to not only charge them but use them at the same time?
Meet Air.Wear, a product currently being crowdfunded in Indiegogo that aims to solve most battery-related problems of the AirPods – and, unlike most alternatives, the solution does not involve the AirPods case, but a patent-pending charger that promises to revolutionize the way these earpods are used.
More about the Air.Wear wired charger
Air.Wear features a magnetic locking system that connects directly to the base of the AirPods and charges them right away. They have the capacity to provide four full-charges, and can be recharged via USB-C.
While Air.Wear kind of defeats the purpose of Air Pods, as it effectively makes them wired for the period in which the charging is happening, it will let you continue to use them while you charge.
The Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign is aiming to get a total of $50,000, and still has around 50 days until it ends. Backers can get the advantage of early bird promotions, the cheapest of which allows them to get Air.Wear for only $30 plus shipping, and they are planned to be delivered in March.
If you are an avid user of Apple’s AirPods and are constantly running out of juice with them, do take a look at the Air.Wear, as it can definitely fill a niche for some users.
