Qualcomm has officially announced that its next Snapdragon Summit will happen in Hawaii from September 23 to 25, 2025.

This event is important because Qualcomm often unveils its newest and most powerful chips there, and this year looks to be no different.

First is the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite 2, which is aimed at laptops. Second is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which is expected to power flagship smartphones.

Leaks and rumors from earlier this year suggested the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will launch earlier than last year’s version, possibly being revealed at the summit itself.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is rumored to be a big step up from the original version. It’s expected to:

  • Keep the same 6 + 2 CPU setup: 6 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores.
  • Feature an upgraded Adreno GPU, said to be 30% faster, improving gaming and graphics performance.
  • Achieve a 26% higher AnTuTu benchmark score, indicating better overall speed and responsiveness.
  • Possibly reach speeds of up to 5GHz on its main core.
  • Use Qualcomm’s enhanced Pegasus cores and support LPDDR6 RAM, making it faster and more efficient for demanding tasks.

Because the chips are coming earlier, we wouldn’t be surprised if global launches of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC-powered phones hit earlier than usual.

Phones with this chip are expected to arrive in October 2025, including popular models like the Xiaomi 16, OnePlus 15, and Realme GT8 Pro.

Interestingly, Samsung may not use this chip in its Galaxy S26 phones. Instead, it’s rumored to use a custom version or its own Exynos 2600 chip, which is reportedly already in production.

Moreover, Samsung is also rumored to launch its next-gen foldables in early July, three months before the latest flagship chipsets from Qualcomm come out.
