A few years ago, Puffco released their first concentrate pen style vaporizer and it became an instant hit. So much so that it sold out in weeks. There were people literally listing them on eBay for hundreds of dollars at one point, it was insane!

Since then, Puffco has released several other award-winning pens, but this is their first entry into the full-blown E-rig market. There’s been a lot of hype about Puffco’s first portable E-rig, called The Peak, but is it worth the hefty price tag that comes along with it? Yes – absolutely yes. Here’s why.

First Impressions

In the dictionary, the word “peak” is defined as the top or the best. The Peak is all that and then some. If Marty McFly went to the future and brought back an E-rig it would definitely be the Peak. It’s really that impressive and futuristic.

With the Peak, the design team at Puffco really took it to the next level. The unit comes in a glossy metallic finish top with a rubber-like bottom that looks more like a gadget that includes Alexa than a portable electric rig.

Especially with the pulsing light indicator that wraps around when it’s activated. Makes me want to give it commands like, “hey Peak, what’s the weather like” or “please start heating up.”

Well, maybe not just yet as it’s not voice activated. Hint, Hint, Puffco?

Performance

There are plenty of vapes that are all show and no go but that is definitely not the case with the Peak. I’ve reviewed other E-rigs and I can honestly say that the Peak is the closest thing to having a traditional rig, but without all the hassle that usually comes with a full rig. It’s by far the easiest e-rig I’ve tested, making the Peak great for novices and pros alike.

With a single multifunction button to unlock and activate it’s really a breeze to use. You can also toggle through the four preset heat settings by tapping once and the Peak will indicate which temperature it’s on by the light indicator and in as little as 25 seconds you’ll be ready to vape.

What’s really cool about the Peak is that you can place your concentrates on the all-ceramic bowl even before you’ve activated it and it will still produce really awesome tasting vapor. And with the included glass water attachment, you get cool and smooth vape rips every time. There’s even a Sesh mode that allows the Peak to stay on for a longer period of time so you can pass it around and get your friends ripped.

The Peak takes about 2 hours to fully charge and you can check how charged the battery is by tapping three times.

Final thoughts on the Puffco Peak

The Peak is the real deal. It produces great tasting vapor and lots of it. There are many options to choose from when you are thinking of picking up a new E-rig, but there are few as easy to use and as smart as this one. It’s simply revolutionary and innovative and you could say the Peak is ahead of its time. The only downside is the price. At $380 it’s no bargain, but like they say, you get what you pay for and with this unit, you will not be disappointed.
