If you were to guess how many headphones you owned in your lifetime, how many pairs do you think you’ve gone through? If you’re like me, the answer is a lot. Which is why I’m constantly telling people it isn’t worth spending over $100 on something that will either get lost, misplaced, or in the worse case scenario, stolen.
Don’t get me wrong, spending a large chunk of money on something you’ll use everyday makes sense, but when it comes to headphones, honestly, is it worth it? If you were to ask me, it definitely isn’t. Which is why I’m still content on using the pair Apple gave me when I purchased my iPhone.
With the thousands of headphones available on the internet these days, there’s a ton of affordable options out there that provide great sound at an affordable price. My case in point: the HV-600 wireless sport in-ear headphones.
After spending just a few hours with these headphones, I was blown away. Something that costs only $30 offers pretty much the same sound that you would find in a $200 pear of Beats headphones. Don’t get me wrong, Beats are not the best headphones out there, but this $30 pair certainly gives it a run for its money. Let’s take a closer look….
Inside the box
- Flymemo wireless sport in-ear headphones
- 2 additional pairs of silicon earbuds with large and small sizes
- Micro-USB charging cable
- Quick start guide
- Bluetooth 4.0 + EDR
- Bluetooth working range up to 15 meters
- Talk time up to 5 hours
- Music time up to 4 hours
- Standby time up to 130 hours
- Charging time less than 2.5 hours
- Able to connect to two devices simultaneously
Taking the headphones out of the box reminded me that these were in fact a pair of $30 headphones. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the device looked cheap or anything, but the packaging reminded me of something I once bought off Alibaba.
The build is pretty decent too, considering the price. The device features a flexible neck-band design along with in-ear headphones. Judging from my first impressions, I wasn’t blown away, yet. After all, these are headphones which need to be judged on their sound and not their looks.
Unlike previous setup attempts with other headphones I reviewed in the past, these were refreshingly easy to get up and running. With a simple tap of the power button and a few swipes on my iPhone, I was listening to music through the headphones in no time. Overall, one of the easiest setups I’ve had when it comes to wireless headphones.
Remember earlier when I said I was blown away by these suckers? I wasn’t kidding. After getting them paired to my Macbook Pro I went ahead and loaded a song up. When the song started playing, my eyes literally opened wide by the surprise of the sounds quality.
One thing in particular, the bass rocks in these headphones. I was stunned. I can’t remember too many experiences with $30 headphones that offer this amazing bass. Not only does it thump, but the highs in sound come in crystal clear as well.
When it comes to noise cancellation, the headphones do a pretty good job. If you’re in a noisy environment, the earbuds should have no problem keeping the distracting noise out, while keeping the stuff you want to listen to in.
For the price, these headphones are totally worth it. Since I’ve used them, I haven’t gone back to my previous pair. Seriously, they’re that good for $30. Not once did I ever experience any drop out, lagging, or disconnect–they were overall extremely stable.
Not only is its performance great, but the sound is definitely note-worthy. I would have no problem recommending these to anyone in the market for an affordable pair of wireless bluetooth headphones.
