KnowTechie exists to make technology news, reviews, and how‑tos understandable for everyone, not just insiders. Our promise is simple: we’ll help you make smarter tech decisions with clear, honest coverage that’s independent of advertisers, affiliates, and hype.

KnowTechie’s mission is to deliver timely, jargon‑free tech coverage that feels like talking to a knowledgeable friend, not sitting through a sales pitch.

Editorial decisions are made solely by the editorial team based on what serves our readers, not what benefits advertisers, affiliates, PR partners, or investors.

Advertisers, sponsors, and affiliate partners do not review, edit, or approve our articles before publication and cannot buy favorable coverage or influence our verdicts.

How KnowTechie makes money

We monetize through display advertising, affiliate links, sponsored content, and brand partnerships, as explained in our Disclosures page, but those revenue streams are kept separate from editorial decision‑making.

Affiliate links: We may earn a commission when you buy through links on our site, but this never changes our evaluation, score, or recommendation.

Sponsored content: Any paid, co‑created, or “partner” content is clearly labeled as such at the top of the article and visually distinct from regular editorial.

Deals and commerce: Our deals coverage may prioritize products with affiliate availability, but editorial staff have final say over which products we feature and how we describe them.

Conflicts of interest and disclosures

We take conflicts of interest seriously because trust is the only reason you’re here.

Writers and editors must disclose any personal or financial relationship that could reasonably influence coverage, including investments, employment, close personal relationships, or consulting work with companies they may cover.

When a conflict exists, we either recuse that person from the story or clearly disclose the relationship to readers in the article.

Staff and contributors may not accept paid endorsements or compensation to feature a product or service in editorial content, and they may not personally invest in companies they regularly cover in a way that could compromise trust.

Review units, loaner products, travel, or event access provided by companies do not guarantee coverage or positive reviews; when such support is material to the story (for example, travel and lodging for an event), we disclose it in the article.

Use of AI and automation

Generative AI is a tool, not a replacement for KnowTechie’s writers and editors.

AI does not publish to KnowTechie; only humans do.

We may use AI tools to help with idea generation, outlines, background research, and early drafts, but every piece of content is substantially written, edited, and fact‑checked by humans before it goes live.

We hold AI‑assisted content to the exact same standards of accuracy, originality, and voice as traditionally written work, and we do not tolerate plagiarism, fabricated claims, or “hallucinated” facts from any source.

When AI meaningfully contributes to the creation of a piece (for example, heavy drafting, structured data analysis, or AI‑generated imagery), we will disclose that use to readers in a clear note.

We do not publish undisclosed AI‑generated images, deepfakes, or synthetic media that could mislead readers about what is real.

Accuracy, sourcing, and corrections

Accuracy matters more than being first.

We prioritize primary sources—official company announcements, regulatory filings, direct product testing, and first‑party documentation—over pure aggregation whenever possible.

When we reference reporting from other outlets, we attribute and link to the original source.

We do not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, or misrepresentation of facts; any such issues trigger immediate review and correction.

Corrections and updates:

Minor errors that do not change the meaning of a story (such as typos) may be fixed silently.

Substantive changes—incorrect specs, misquoted statements, wrong prices, missing context, or updated conclusions—are clearly labeled with an “Update” or “Correction” note explaining what changed and when, consistent with best practices at major outlets.

If a story is found to be fundamentally flawed, we may retract or heavily overhaul it and explain why.

If you spot an error, you can email us with the article URL, the passage in question, and any supporting information so we can review it quickly.

Reviews, recommendations, and testing

Our reviews and recommendations are designed to help real people decide what’s worth their time and money.

Whenever possible, reviews are based on hands‑on time with products; when that’s not feasible, we will be clear that coverage is based on briefings, demos, or technical specifications.

Companies may provide review units or early access, but they do not get copy approval or the right to demand changes, and they do not see our verdict before publication.

Scores and recommendations are determined solely by the editorial team and are not for sale—affiliate programs and ad relationships do not control what we say.

As products receive significant software updates, price drops, or new competition, we may revisit and update reviews, including adjusting scores or recommendations to reflect current reality.

Advertising, sponsored content, and affiliate links

We follow “church and state” principles similar to those at large tech and media outlets.

Editorial staff are not involved in ad pricing, media buying, or sales negotiations, and sales staff do not dictate what we cover.

Ads that appear next to our content are clearly labeled as advertising and are designed not to be confused with editorial.

Sponsored posts, partner stories, and branded content are labeled at the top of the page and in other required locations.

Editors have final approval on all contextual links within editorial content. Links are not sold inside editorial pieces, and advertisers do not get preferential linking treatment unless they are a relevant primary source.

For more specifics on affiliate programs and partners, please see our separate Disclosures page.

Plagiarism and original reporting

We do not copy other outlets’ work; when we build on someone else’s reporting, we credit and link to the original source.

We prohibit plagiarism, including copying structure, unique phrasing, or analysis in a way that misleads readers about originality, regardless of whether content originated from humans or AI tools.

When we conduct original reporting—interviews, hands‑on testing, or data analysis—we clearly distinguish our findings and provide context so readers can evaluate the information.

Community standards and reader behavior

KnowTechie’s voice is conversational and sometimes snarky, but our community standards are straightforward.

We welcome disagreement and debate, but we do not tolerate harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeted abuse based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

Spam, scams, and malicious links are not allowed.
We reserve the right to moderate, remove, or block comments and accounts that violate these guidelines on our site or social channels.
