Love it or hate it, selfies are here to stay. Hopefully it’s just a fad, but given the past 10 years, it doesn’t seem like the trend is slowing down one bit. Actually, the opposite is happening; we’re creating and inventing items that make taking selfies easier. Some are creating phones with high-quality front-facing cameras, while others are creating things as rudimentary as, in today’s case, a selfie stick.

Um yea, you heard that right. A selfie stick.

People are actually buying these things, and at an alarming rate to boot. For example, you can pick up one of these ridiculous things (pictured above) for $25 at places like Selfie on a Stick. If you really want to be the coolest kid on the block, you can even customize it with a combination of different colors, if that’s your bag.

OK sure, it’s more than just a stick. How else would you be able to take a selfie of yourself when the phone is two arm-lengths away? This is where their bluetooth remote shutter comes into play. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, it’s essentially a remote clicker – kind of resembling a car alarm clicker – that allows you to snap a photo without ever having to touch your phone. Selfie on a Stick works with iOS and Android.

Let’s face it, this isn’t groundbreaking or anything, other than the fact that people actually use these things. Seriously, wait until you have the privilege of seeing one of these things in the wild. They’re ridiculous! Either way, they serve their purpose and get the job done. If selfies are your thing, then it’s a no-brainer; you could be talking better selfies with Selfie on a Stick.
