Is the $40 pack of 50 Overwatch Loot Boxes worth it?

Do you love playing Overwatch, but you’re really disappointed in how long things take to unlock? I’ve level 35 or so and as of yet, I have barely even begun to scratch the surface of unlockables. I’ve got like maybe one or two epic or legendary skins, but for the most part all of my loot boxes have contained voice lines and sprays.

In an attempt to justify spending another $40 on Overwatch, I decided I’d purchase a 50 loot box pack off PSN and go through it all because I wanted some good shit for the purposes of an article.

So there you go. 50 loot boxes and their content. Was it worth the money? That depends. I used the currency to buy Imp Mercy and Ifrit Zenyatta which are the two skins I wanted most of all, so I’d say I’m indifferent. I got what I wanted, but I would have rather paid $5 per skin and not gotten all the filler junk like icons and what not.

I’d prefer if Overwatch had a direct price on things instead of having to buy a gaggle of boxes in hopes you get something you want – but the game is super fun so it wasn’t a bad experiment but I think I’ll hold off before doing it again anytime soon.
