ChatGPT could become your health coach with Apple Health
When (or if) it arrives, it would sit under ChatGPT’s “Apps & Connectors” tab, right alongside cloud storage and productivity tools.

Despite rumors that Apple is gearing up to swap OpenAI for Google’s Gemini, code sleuths digging through the ChatGPT iOS app have uncovered a juicy surprise: a hidden Apple Health icon.
Yes, tucked away like a secret diary entry is evidence that ChatGPT may soon cozy up to your step counts, sleep charts, and late-night breathing patterns.
According to MacRumors, strings buried in the code reference everything from activity and diet to hearing and, intriguingly, breathing.
The feature isn’t live. OpenAI has it locked behind a disabled “connector” that hints at a rollout no earlier than 2026.
But when (or if) it arrives, it would sit under ChatGPT’s “Apps & Connectors” tab, right alongside cloud storage and productivity tools.
Only this time, instead of syncing your files, it would be syncing your vitals.
If this actually happens, cue a whole new era of “health chats.”
Picture asking your phone, “Hey, did I sleep like a raccoon in a dryer last week?” or “Should I be embarrassed by my step count?” and getting useful, personalized info back, minus the judgment.
Instead of parsing graphs or pretending you understand VO₂ max, ChatGPT could translate your health stats into actual human language.
This also signals something bigger: health apps might finally evolve from being glorified stat buckets to becoming proactive wellness guides.
For anyone who wants to be healthier but breaks out in hives at the sight of a spreadsheet, this could be huge. Your iPhone wouldn’t just track your life, it would help explain it.
But before you start planning heart-to-hearts with your AI doctor friend, keep expectations in check. The feature is still speculative, unannounced, and entirely dormant.
If an Apple Health toggle suddenly appears in your ChatGPT app, that’s your hint that something’s brewing.
And when it does, you’ll want to triple-check permissions. Letting AI peek at your vitals is kind of a big deal.
Or, you know, maybe you just wait for Apple’s own AI coach to show up and judge your step count instead.
