Gemini AI is getting better at having natural conversations with users, and one of its features, Gemini Live, lets you use voice commands to control different apps through extensions.
This means you can do things like ask Gemini to send a message, play music, or get directions without touching your phone.
Over time, Google has been adding support for more apps, making Gemini Live even more useful. However, Gemini Live still doesn’t work with many of the apps people use every day.
A recent look inside the latest beta version of the Google Android app suggests that Google is actively working to add more app support soon.
This information comes from an APK teardown, where tech experts dig into the app’s code to find hints about upcoming features.
The teardown revealed a list of new apps that could soon work with Gemini Live extensions.
According to Android Authority, the list from the latest Google app beta includes YouTube Music and Spotify as possible upcoming additions.
This means that, in the near future, you might be able to ask Gemini Live to play songs from these apps with your voice, a feature many music lovers would find super convenient.
While these apps already work with regular Gemini extensions, they’re not yet fully supported in Gemini Live, so this update would help make the experience smoother.
This discovery shows that Google is actively working to close the gap between Gemini and Gemini Live in terms of extension support.
Right now, it can be confusing for users to know which version of Gemini works with which apps.
But with more apps being added to Gemini Live, it looks like Google is on the right track to make everything work seamlessly in one place.
Although it’s not perfect yet, these updates suggest that Gemini Live will soon become much more capable and user-friendly for everyone.
