WWE 2K16 loses Hulk Hogan but gains Arnold as the Terminator
WWE 2K16 is set to launch soon, and along with it comes a whole new legend: Arnold Schwarzenegger

In an attempt to probably distract the masses from the drama revolving around (former) WWE Superstar Hulk Hogan, 2K Games released probably one of the greatest DLC trailers I have seen in quite a long time. In it, an obviously aged Arnold Schwarzenegger reenact’s the Terminator 2: Judgement Day biker bar scene along with WWE Superstars. The purpose of the trailer is to announce that pre-ordering the game will allow you to play as Arnold as the Terminator in WWE 2K16.
Interestingly enough, in the trailer, as he scans the various wrestlers in the room, it lists their positions in the company and their finishing moves. A pretty neat detail for a trailer so silly. It’s odd that they list Dean Ambrose as the US Champ, but hey there is also a date of 5-10-13 which is when I think he won it. I dunno, I wasn’t watching the product then. It could be a tongue-in-cheek joke at how backdated 2K rosters usually are. Either way, check the trailer out above!
Now, initially, I looked at the press release and simply scoffed. I mean, what place does the Terminator have in a wrestling game? After watching the trailer, I can’t help but imagine how fun the Terminator vs Brock Lesnar would be, or having Arnie give HHH his comeuppance for stealing the Terminator gimmick at Wrestlemania 31. As a matter of fact, the last few releases of WWE 2K games have been quite serious and this is actually a great departure from the norm.
It’s fairly rare to see many non-wrestlers in a wrestling game these days, but the general online consensus is that this inclusion actually seems like quite a bit of fun. If there is something that the WWE 2K series needs right now, fun is at the top of the list. Last year’s title offered up Hulk Hogan and Sting as playable characters for pre-ordering, so there’s a possibility that there still may be at least 1 more pre-order character. Who would you like to see?
WWE 2K16 is boasting the largest roster of the entire series and while I was originally kind of on the fence after getting burned pretty bad on 2K15, I have to say that the hype train is rolling again!
