A car dealership in Nashville constructed a five-story car vending machine

It’s 2015 and car vending machines are here. What a time to be alive!

Just a heads up, if you buy something through our links, we may get a small share of the sale. It’s one of the ways we keep the lights on here. Click here for more.

Everyone knows that buying a car can be difficult and stressful. There’s the inevitable trip to the dealership, haggling over price, and the uncomfortable feeling of being ripped off. I know this because I used to work in the business. Trust me, it’s not pretty.

So to make the whole process somewhat enjoyable, Carvana, a car dealership based out of Nashville constructed a five-story vending machine that spits out cars.

That’s right, a fucking vending machine!

Now, don’t get it twisted. It’s not like you go to said vending machine and a take a pick of the litter. Prospective buyers will have to order the car through its website and take delivery of the car at its vending machine location in Nashville.

Carvana CEO Ernie Garcia tells The Verge:

“I think it’s going to be an incredible customer experience,” Garcia says. “And I think if we’ve got the car that they’re looking for, and we’re selling it for $1,500 to $2,000 less, and we offer a purchase process that takes 20 minutes, and then you get to go to a vending machine and watch your car moonwalk to you? I think people are going to respond to that.”

Although this sounds like a novelty, it seems like it could work. The car industry already has a bad reputation, however, this could change things around if its successful. To learn more, check out the video above or head on over to Carvana‘s website.
