Starting October 5, Netflix will be raising up its prices for US subscribers, reports Business Insider.
For the folks who are on the $7.99 plan, luckily, those prices are staying the same. However, the “standard plan,” which gives users HD and two simultaneous streams, the price will go up from $9.99 to $10.99 per month. The highest-tier option, which gets you features like 4K video and four simultaneous streams, will go up from $11.99 to $13.99.
People who recently subscribed to Netflix will see the price hike go into effect on October 5. Current subscribers will be notified on October 19 and will be reflected on their next billing cycle.
Here’s a statement Netflix provided to Mashable:
“From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience to help members find something great to watch even faster.”
Here’s a helpful screenshot that shows all the different Netflix plans and features. Keep in mind, the prices shown below don’t reflect the new price changes.
