EmoFix is the useless device you may actually need

The EmoFix is a bluetooth selfie remote for your Android an iOS devices that is currently being funded on IndieGoGo. The device is 1.5 x 1.5 inches, waterproof (for those next level selfies), and fits nicely onto a key chain or backpack ring.

Just a heads up, if you buy something through our links, we may get a small share of the sale. It’s one of the ways we keep the lights on here. Click here for more.

Let’s start off with the obvious. You don’t need this device, you just don’t. There is no sound reason to have a shutter remote with your iPhone 6S+Alpha. If you need a shutter remote, then you should be investing in better photography gear and not little pieces of colorful, Bluetooth-enabled plastic.

But I digress.

The EmoFix is a bluetooth selfie remote for your Android and iOS devices that is currently being crowdfunded on IndieGoGo. The device is 1.5 x 1.5 inches, waterproof (for those next level selfies), and fits nicely onto a key chain or backpack ring. The construction is solid, with a zinc alloy outer body, and feels sturdy in your hand for such a small device. The EmoFix pairs with your phone directly through Bluetooth and has a range of approximately 30 feet. Thankfully, no app is needed for EmoFix to work, and with a battery life of over 2 years, your interests in narcissism will die well before this gadget.

EmoFix

The EmoFix can be paired with up to seven phones (share with your friends, I guess?) but can only be in use with one at a time. Connecting the shutter remote is simple, and requires very little effort on the user’s part. Simply click the only button on the EmoFix (a blue LED will confirm your press) and search for devices on your phone. The pairing happens quickly, and the EmoFix is ready to use. From there, just open up your camera app and you can use the EmoFix to snap pictures to your little heart’s content. You can also record video with the EmoFix using a two-click method, but that experience was a bit more faulty. While testing on a Samsung Note 3, recording video worked most of the time, but there were times that it didn’t register the first click and would start recording when the video was intended to end.

Overall, the EmoFix is a pretty decent device for capturing selfies and other remote pictures. The IndieGoGo campaign is live now and offers some pretty decent perks in exchange for your monetary support.

Now, let us leave you with EmoFix’s super-creepy launch trailer.
