Imagine walking into a store, grabbing what you want and then leaving. This is the idea behind Amazon Go, the worlds most advanced shopping technology.

So how does it exactly work? According to Amazon, “Just Walk Out technology automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart.” This is all possible thanks to computer vision, sensor fusion, and deep learning. This sort of technology is also used in self-driving cars.

The video above showcases Amazon Go at a Seattle location on the corner of 7th Avenue and Blanchard Street, but it’s only reserved for Amazon employees at this time. The program is still in beta and is set to go public in early 2017.
