Trump and big tech want to fix your medical records

The privacy details are still fuzzy, but the promise is less paperwork, better access, and a system that actually talks to itself for once.

Big Tech just made a pact with the Trump administration to drag U.S. healthcare into something resembling the 21st century finally, reports Bloomberg.

On Wednesday, the White House announced that Google, Amazon, Apple, OpenAI, Anthropic, and a host of other tech companies are joining forces to build a comprehensive “digital health ecosystem.”

The goal? Make it as easy to share your medical info as it is to order takeout, and give patients new tools for handling everything from diabetes to the never-ending paperwork that comes with seeing a doctor.

The plan centers on two things: first, building a framework so patients and providers can actually share health data without hitting a wall of bureaucracy, and second, rolling out more personal tech—think AI assistants that check symptoms, help schedule appointments, and manage chronic conditions like obesity and diabetes.

Over 60 companies have signed up, and the administration wants early results by 2026, which in government time is basically tomorrow.

Washington has tried (and failed) to fix medical data sharing before, mostly because the tech just wasn’t there.

Now, with these giants on board and AI at the helm, the hope is to cut through the red tape and let patients control their own records.

CMS, the federal agency in the mix, even plans an app library so people can find trusted health tools without digging through garbage apps in the store.

The privacy details are still fuzzy, but the promise is less paperwork, better access, and a system that actually talks to itself for once. Can’t argue with that.
