Canva users can now create and manage their designs simply by talking to Anthropic’s Claude AI chatbot.

This new feature lets people describe what they want, like a presentation, a resized image, or help filling out a template, and Claude will do it directly in their Canva account.

Users don’t need to open the Canva website or app to start designing. Everything can be done within a Claude chat window, using everyday language.

This integration is part of a broader trend: Claude is being connected to more apps, like Figma, Notion, Stripe, and Prisma, so users can get things done across platforms without switching tools.

For this Canva connection to work, you need to have a paid Canva account (starting at $15/month) and a paid Claude Pro account ($17/month).

Claude connects to Canva through something called the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a system Canva launched recently.

MCP acts like a universal adapter for AI, letting different AI systems easily and securely plug into apps like Canva.

It ensures that Claude can access your Canva files and templates safely to carry out design tasks on your behalf.

Using this new feature, Claude can not only create designs but also search through your Canva Docs and Presentations, find content by keyword, and summarize your documents inside the chat.

This makes it easier to review and refine your content without jumping between multiple tabs or tools.

According to Canva’s head of Ecosystem, this integration signals a shift toward AI-powered workflows that save time and boost creativity. (Via: The Verge)

Instead of copying and pasting ideas or manually editing slides, users can now handle it all through natural conversation with Claude.

Claude is the first AI assistant to fully support Canva through this new tech, but it already works with other design platforms like Figma, and a new Claude integration hub is now available to help users find and manage all their connected apps from one place.

Do you think AI-powered design tools like Claude’s Canva integration will make creativity more accessible? Or could they replace the need for learning actual design skills? Tell us below in the comments, or reach us via our Twitter or Facebook.
