Gamers across the world aren’t happy about the GTA VI release delay news. However, there’s a new rumor going around about Half-Life 3, the long-awaited video game sequel fans have been hoping for since the early 2000s.

According to a well-known gaming insider named Tyler McVicker, the game is now “playable from beginning to end,” and might even be released as early as this summer. (Via: Eurogamer)

He mentioned this during a long livestream where he shared several hints about the game’s development.

Normally, people wouldn’t take this kind of rumor too seriously, after all, there have been many false alarms over the years when it comes to Half-Life 3

But this time, there are a few other signs that are giving fans hope. For example, back in January, the voice actor for the mysterious character “G-Man” (from Half-Life 2) tweeted something cryptic about a “surprise” coming in 2025.

Around the same time, fans noticed that Valve, the company behind the game, had two games listed under “Upcoming Releases” on their Steam platform, but only one of them had been revealed so far.

Digging deeper, fans also found references in the game’s code to something called “HLX,” which many believe is a secret codename for Half-Life 3

McVicker also said that this new game isn’t a VR title, but a more traditional game like the earlier ones in the series.

He added that so many people are currently testing the game that leaks are almost unavoidable.

According to McVicker, Valve is now focused on polishing and fine-tuning the game, meaning most of the content and features are likely finished.

That’s a strong hint that the game might actually be close to release. However, fans are being advised not to get too excited just yet.

Over the years, Half-Life 3 has become famous for being rumored, teased, and then never showing up, so much so that it’s become a running joke in the gaming world.

While this new information is promising, until Valve officially announces something, it’s still just speculation.

Do you think we’ll finally get Half-Life 3? Have you played 1, 2, and Alyx? We want your thoughts below in the comments, or via our Twitter or Facebook.
