Ranks in CS2 are a separate and rather complex system. At the moment, the game has 18 ranks and as many as six levels for them. In addition, a CS rating was recently added to the game.
Of course, all these rating systems, titles, and ranks were added by the developers for the sake of variety. They also attract additional interest from players.
However, there is so much variety that players can sometimes get confused. This article, written by k1nd3r, is dedicated to obtaining ranks in CS2.

What ranks are there in CS2?

In the updates, Valve has worked on game modes. Thus, standard matchmaking took second place. Fortunately, titles are still listed in CS, but there is a minus: now players cannot boast of them.
The title is not visible in the game profile. Instead, now each map has a certain rank, and, taking into account this rank, allies with approximately the same rank will be selected for the map.
The system remained virtually unchanged. Even the ranks themselves in CS2 are the same as they were in the original Counter Strike. So, the game has exactly 18 titles that every gamer can achieve:
- Silver I
- Silver II
- Silver III
- Silver IV
- Silver Elite
- Silver Elite Master
- Gold Nova I
- Gold Nova II
- Gold Nova III
- Gold Nova Master
- Master Guardian I
- Master Guardian II
- Master Guardian Elite
- Distinguished Master Guardian
- Legendary Eagle
- Legendary Eagle Master
- Supreme Master First Class
- The Global Elite
Titles still show the player’s skill. Don’t worry about them disappearing from the game entirely or becoming less valuable. Each gamer can get a rank in CS 2 and increase it on their own.
Where is the rank now displayed?
The rank can now be seen in the main menu or in group lobbies and tables that show the result after the end of the match. Players who are in the same lobby always see each other’s ranks.
Why does a player’s win count reset to zero after winning a competitive match?
Since in Counter-Strike 2 titles are assigned individually for each map, in order to get it on a specific map the player needs to win 10 matches on this particular site.
The number of wins may vary depending on the map. Because of this, the required number of wins to earn a title may change on the match results screen depending on the selected map.
How to get a rank in CS2?

Due to some changes, you can now obtain a title only for a specific map. To do this, you need to win ten matches and only then you will receive and be able to increase the coveted status.
To increase your own rating and rank in Counter-Strike 2, you just need to continue to win matches.
It should be emphasized that indicators such as the number of murders or deaths do not greatly influence the overall value.
Often before starting a game, you can notice how many points you can potentially gain or lose. These values will change depending on activity. How to Improve Your Rank?
Based on practice, it becomes clear that you need to try to maintain a high percentage of winnings for constant growth and promotions.
If victories alternate with losses almost every other time in matches, the system will begin to consider the level correct.
This prevents advancement in rank. Based on this data, we provide the following tips that should help in
such a difficult matter as obtaining a title in CS2:
- Don’t play alone. Competitive mode often features foreign players or those just looking for fun. Winning with such allies is difficult due to language barriers or a frivolous approach to the game. Gather a team of like-minded people; for example, invite friends.
- Choose maps that you are familiar with. Before the start of the match, choose locations that are familiar to you. This will help you avoid unusual situations and not become easy prey for experienced opponents.
- Develop personal skills. Improve your shooting, study places to throw grenades, and watch the performances of professionals in tournaments – all this will help you develop new techniques and strategies.
- To speed up the process of achieving a new title, players need to demonstrate outstanding individual performance by maintaining a positive kill/death ratio, earning regular MVP rewards, and dealing significant damage per match.
- To quickly increase your rank in CS2, it is advisable to win from 4 to 8 matches in a row. The more impressive your stats are, the fewer wins you will need to achieve promotion.
Should players focus on ranks in CS2?
To summarize, we would like to say that titles are part of the game’s rating system. Of course, in competitive matches, it makes sense to focus on the titles. However, the system itself mostly does this for you.
Raising the rank is just competitive fun for the players themselves. Don’t pay too much attention to this detail.
But you also shouldn’t completely turn a blind eye to this phenomenon. Titles in CS2 give you the opportunity to play with suitable teammates.
And, of course, titles, like other assessment systems, affect self-esteem. Therefore, if you like the competitive mode, you will certainly receive a title in CS2.
Final thoughts

In December 2023, the average number of CS2 players exceeded 770,094.
For a more equal game in CS2, there is a ranking system; players are also guided directly by the titles they receive, which allows them to approach the game more motivated.
To analyze settings in CS2 and evaluate the performance of pro commands, we recommend using the Profilerr service.
If you want to achieve the same success as Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev from Navi or Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut from Team Vitality, we recommend using services such as CS2 Crosshair Generator and Steam ID Finder.
Profilerr is available around the clock, no matter where you are now – Los Angeles (USA) or Montreal (Canada).
