Pebble is relaunching its slimmest smartwatch in the form of the Pebble Round 2, a $199 round-faced wearable that focuses on essentials and long battery life rather than full-blown fitness features.
The Pebble Round 2 offers basic health and activity tracking like steps and sleep, but skips sensors such as a heart rate monitor, which helps the watch stretch a charge to an estimated 10–14 days.
It revives the company’s earlier circular design from 2015 while keeping the new model extremely thin at 8.1mm, only slightly thicker than the original Pebble Time Round.
Design and hardware
The updated watch uses a 1.3-inch color e-paper touchscreen with a 260 x 260 resolution at 283 DPI, doubling the pixel count of the first Round and improving readability.

Pebble has also reduced the bezel by switching to a newer display design, resulting in more screen real estate inside a stainless steel frame with an accelerometer, magnetometer, and side buttons for navigation and media control.
Software and features
Pebble Round 2 runs the open source Pebble OS and supports thousands of apps and watch faces from the Pebble Appstore, though developers will need to tweak their software for the circular display using Pebble’s SDK.
The watch includes dual microphones for voice input and message replies, with Android support now and iOS support promised in the EU soon. Pebble plans to bring AI features similar to its recent AI ring to the watch line later.
Styles, bands, and availability
The Round 2 comes in matte black with a 20mm band, silver with either 14mm or 20mm bands, and polished rose gold with a 14mm band, and ships with a silicone strap and proprietary charger while leather bands will be sold separately.
Preorders open January 2 on Pebble’s website, with shipping targeted for May, and existing Pebble Time 2 customers can choose to switch their order to the new model.
