6 portable vaporizers you should be rocking before heading back to college

Heading back to college this fall? Here’s some of the best portable vaporizers you should consider before lighting up.

best portable vaporizers

Just a heads up, if you buy something through our links, we may get a small share of the sale. It’s one of the ways we keep the lights on here. Click here for more.

We’re not really big on back-to-school guides here at KnowTechie. Honestly, we haven’t really done them at all. But when I recently stumbled into a friend of mine heading to college, he asked me if there were any portable vaporizers I could recommend.

One of his biggest concerns is that he didn’t want to be walking around to his next class smoking a giant fatty, so he knew a vaporizer would do the trick because it doesn’t really attract any attention or smell. And because of that, here I am writing a back-to-school guide running down some of the best vapes students can stock their pockets with.

We’ve actually reviewed most of the vapes that will appear on the list and we’ll link to them if they’re available. But the biggest takeaways here are price, availability, and reliability. Because at the end of the day, students don’t have the biggest budget when it comes to these things.

So without further due, here’s the best vapes students should be rocking when they head back to school this fall:

Pax 2

gold pax 2

Price: $279

Alright, I know what you’re thinking, the price is a little steep. But when it comes to the reliability, the Pax 2 is a sure bet. I’ve been rocking the same one for about 2 years and I haven’t had one issue. Factor in a lifetime warranty and $279 seems like peanuts.

The Pax 2 hits like a dream and it fits right in your pocket without giving you that awkward bulge. Its sleek and sexy design will have all your friends drooling over it and its ease of use will have you coming back for more. Personally, it’s one of my favorites and its a great introductory vape for anyone looking to jump into the world of herbal vaping. Check out our full review here.

Features:

  • Smaller. Smarter. Sleeker.
  • For Aromatic Blends
  • Pocket Friendly
  • 4 Optimized Temperature Presets
  • Motion Sensor With Automatic Shutoff
  • Stainless Steel Filling Chamber
  • Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery With Dock

The Crafty by Storz and Bickel

Crafty-Mighty

Price: $339

So this isn’t the most portable unit on the list, but it’s certainly something that will do the job when it comes to getting monster hits. If you’re looking at the image above, Storz and Bickel offers two variations of this vape. The Crafty (which is the smaller one) and the Mighty. Personally, they both perform well, but my favorite is the Crafty.

This little sucker is a fan favorite because of its quick heat up time, long-lasting battery, and amazing performance. Again, it’s not the cheapest, but I found that it performs slightly better as the previously mentioned Pax 2. Check out the full review here.

Features:

  • For Aromatic Blends
  • For Solid Concentrates and Liquids When Using included Liquid Pad
  • Fits in Your Pocket
  • Remote Control Bluetooth App
  • Haptic Vibration Alarm

Vapium Summit Plus

Vapium Summit Plus

Price: $149

For its price range, the Vapium Summit Plus is one of the best portable vaporizers money can buy. And it’s truly a portable vaporizer because it fits in your pocket, splash proof, and durable enough that it won’t break if you ever dropped it.

When it comes to its performance, the Vapium Summit Plus hits like a dream. Seriously, there’s a lot of fly-by-night vaporizer companies selling vapes in this price range, but honestly, they’re not anywhere the same level as the Summit Plus. Definitely something worth checking out.  Check out our full review here. For an unbiased review, click here.

  • For Aromatic Blends
  • Smartphone Pairing (Available Summer 2016)
  • 8 Temperature Presets
  • Durability For Extreme Conditions

Quickdraw 500 DLX

Quickdraw 500

Price: $160

If you’re someone who’s into vaping more than just herbs, the Quickdraw 500 DLX is something to consider. This little sucker can handle concentrates, e-cigg juice, and of course, herbs.

It rocks an attractive design and isn’t something that’s going to break the bank. When I first got my hands on the Quickdraw 500 DLX, I wasn’t expecting much. However, given some time with it, it totally blew me away, and I’m sure anyone who buys it will too. Check out the full review here.

Features:

  • Deluxe: For Solid Concentrates, Liquids and Aromatic Blends
  • Smart-Cartridge System
  • Precision Heating
  • LED Indicators

G Pen Elite

Price: $169

I personally haven’t had the chance to try this out, but one of our reviewers, swears by this thing. Actually, he even coined it as “The sword of the Stone”, but for vaporizers. Here’s a little more from that review:

If I had some kind of rating system, I’d give this vaporizer four out of five stars. It’s well-priced, well-performing, and cool-looking, but the minor negatives of the less-than-obvious user interaction and perhaps overzealous safety timer are too tangible to go without consideration.

Once you know the secret of how to turn this device on and off, you’ll love it. Then perhaps you can be the only one to use it, like some kinda Excalibur vaporizer.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out this puppy is a dream, and at that price, you really can’t go wrong. Check out our full review here to learn more.

Features:

  • For Aromatic Blends
  • Easily Fits in Pocket
  • Fully Ceramic and Coilless 360 Chamber
  • Custom Temperature
  • Large Capacity Chamber
  • Brilliant LED Interface

Dr. Dabber Aurora Vape Pen

Dr Dabber Aurora

Image: VapepenPro.com

Price: $99

Vaporizers don’t discriminate against things other than herbs, and our last vape in this roundup is one of those. The Aurora vape pen from Dr. Dabber is purely intended for waxes and concentrates. Now, when it comes to vape pens, they’re hit or miss. There’s literally hundreds of manufactures making these, so choosing the right one isn’t always the easiest.

Luckily, Dr. Dabber is a reputable name and we’ve had the chance to review a few of the products in the past. Given reviews on other notable vape review sites and customer reviews, we’d be foolish not to include Dr. Dabber’s Aurora vape pen.

Features:

  • 3 Heat Settings
  • Snaptech Magnetic Connections
  • 3 Unique Atomizers:- Dual Quartz Rod with Quartz Dish- Dual Ceramic Rod with Quartz Dish- Ceramic Halo with Quartz Dish
  • Ceramic Mouthpiece
  • Discreet Satin Finish

And that about wraps it up. Even if you don’t choose any of the vapes I’ve mentioned above, the most important thing to take into consideration when buying one of these guys is making sure they have a good warranty, a superior product, and something that won’t break when you drop it. Happy vaping!
