New and existing DJI drone owners will have the option to purchase either a six-month or one-year DJI Care protection plan that will cover damage to their aircraft.

It’s a well-known fact, if you purchase a $1,000 drone, chances are you’ll eventually crash it at some point or another. That’s not to say you’re a bad pilot, but in most cases, this is something you never had experience with. So it’s safe to say there’s a bit of a learning curve.

So to help with those costly mistakes, DJI, one of the leading names in the drone industry recently revealed a protection plan that covers the repairs the next time your drone takes a nose-dive to the ground.

Coined as DJI Care, the company offers its DJI Phantom 3 line and the 2.0 version of the Inspire 1 protections plans for six months or 12, ranging in price from $99 to $699.

“By introducing DJI Care, we want to provide our customers with peace of mind and a worry-free flight experience, said DJI Founder and CEO in a recent press release. This program will also encourage more people to explore aerial technology and learn about the fun and potential of flying our drones.”

DJI Care is available for customers in the US, China, and some part of Europe. To learn more about DJI Care, click here.
