Google search history

If you’re rocking an Android device, you can erase all recent Google searches with this quick shortcut.

For those who may share their smartphone or not want to be directed to previous searches, there is a way to get rid of that information. If you are using an Android smartphone, there is a simple way that you can remove all recent searches from your device thanks to a fast shortcut.

  • Google Search Box: Tap once to activate previous searches
  • Tap & Hold Selected Search: You can now remove that particular search with Delete

You can tap and hold as many individual searches as you want using this method. It will also remove them from your Google history as a whole so it will not appear when using another device that you have signed in.

If you want to delete more than that, you can go to your account page and turn off the past history completely simply by following these instructions:

  • Open the Google App
  • Settings
  • Accounts & Privacy
  • Google Activity Controls
  • Web & App Activity

This means that you can delete any number of previous searches or not have them saved in the first place. This particular feature is perfect for those who share their devices or Google accounts. Plus, if you make many different types of searches each day, this can prevent wasting time that comes from accidentally activated an old search.
