Google has officially announced the dates for its annual developer conference, Google I/O, which will take place on May 20 and May 21 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California.

Attendees can register on the official website to either watch the event online or purchase tickets to attend in person.

This year’s keynote kicks off with the usual two-hour deep dive into Google’s latest and greatest. Expect a heavy dose of AI, especially Gemini, as Google continues weaving it into every corner of its empire.

Last year’s I/O landed during Taurus season. This year, it’s Gemini season – known for adaptability and charm.

Hopefully, that translates to a more engaging experience than last year’s Project Astra and Gems reveals, which left many scratching their heads.

Google’s already hinting at the AI-heavy agenda. The 2025 I/O site spotlights Gemma, AI Studio, and NotebookLM, suggesting a focus on helping developers actually use these tools.

Looks like Google’s aiming to give clearer guidance on when and how to deploy Gemini and its AI buddies.

Interestingly, Microsoft’s Build conference overlaps with I/O. Expect a double dose of AI news that week.

What are your expectations for Gemini and other AI innovations? Do you think Google’s new tools like Gemma, AI Studio, and NotebookLM will truly empower developers? Share your insights in the comments below.
