Google has updated its Google One AI Premium subscription by adding NotebookLM Plus, an advanced version of its AI-powered note-taking and research tool.
Previously, the Google One AI Premium plan, priced at $19.99 per month, primarily offered access to Gemini Advanced, Google’s AI assistant with enhanced capabilities.
While the price might have seemed steep for users who didn’t frequently use Gemini’s advanced features, the addition of NotebookLM Plus makes the subscription more appealing.
NotebookLM is a powerful research tool that allows users to create notebooks and populate them with information from various sources, including documents, presentations, and URLs.
The AI then processes the input, enabling users to generate summaries, FAQs, timelines, and briefing documents.
It can also answer questions with accurate citations and even produce Audio Overviews, where two AI-generated hosts discuss the content in a podcast-style format.
Google now offers NotebookLM Plus to One AI premium users

The free version of NotebookLM is already quite capable. It allows users to create up to 100 notebooks, each containing 50 sources and a combined word limit of 500,000 words.
Users can make 50 daily queries and generate three Audio Overviews per day. However, NotebookLM Plus, included in the Google One AI Premium plan, significantly expands these capabilities.
The premium version allows users to create 500 notebooks, each supporting 300 sources. The daily query limit is 500, and users can generate 20 Audio Overviews daily.
Additionally, it introduces exclusive features such as:
- “Chat-only” notebook sharing for collaboration
- Customization of notebook style and tone
- Advanced chat settings, allowing users to adjust response styles
- Usage analytics for better tracking and insights
Google hopes that these added benefits will incentivize more users to subscribe.
To further attract students, the company is offering a 50 percent discount on the AI Premium plan, bringing the cost down to $9.99 monthly for 12 months for eligible college students in the US.
Students who are 18 years or older enrolled in college can take advantage of this limited-time offer by subscribing to their personal Google accounts.
