Holy shit, Boston Dynamics’ humanoid robot can now run all by itself

The robot uprising has begun.

The future is going to be fucking scary. Want proof? Here it is: Boston Dynamics’ humanoid Atlas robot can now run all by itself.

Let that sink in for a bit.

Here’s why this is a big deal: We’ve seen countless videos of the company’s Atlas robot doing a bunch of cool things like performing a perfect backflip, as well as seeing it run on a treadmill. However, in all those cases, the robot was tethered to a line so if it ever fell, it had some protection from busting its ass.

This recent video shows that it doesn’t need to be tied down anymore. As you can see in the video above, the Atlas Robot is shown running through a park at a decent pace. In one point of the video, it even shows the robot jumping over an obstacle in its way. Humanity is doomed.

Honestly, this robot has better form than I do.

If this doesn’t scare you, then you obviously haven’t seen an episode of Black Mirror.

How do you feel about robots running freely like this? Does it excite or scare you? Let us know down below in the comments!
