Perplexity has launched a new feature called Perplexity Labs.
This tool is part of its $20-per-month Pro subscription and is designed to help users create things like reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and even mini web apps, tasks that would normally take more effort and time.
Perplexity Labs is available on web browsers and through iOS and Android apps, with versions for Mac and Windows coming soon.
The company says Labs is meant to handle more in-depth projects that might take 10 minutes or more to complete.
It uses extra tools like web search, code running, and chart creation to produce detailed and useful content.
With Labs, users can do things like analyze information, generate visuals like graphs or images, write and organize code, and even build small web applications.
These capabilities are especially useful for professionals who need to complete complex work more efficiently.
Everything created in Labs, whether it’s a file, chart, or line of code, is neatly stored and downloadable from a special tab within the tool.
Perplexity launched Labs on the same day that another AI company, Manus, released its own tool for making presentation slides, showing how quickly the AI space is evolving and getting more competitive.
This new tool is part of Perplexity’s bigger goal, which is to grow beyond just being a search engine.
The company is also working on its own web browser, called Comet, and has recently bought Read.vc, a social network for professionals.
While the idea behind Labs is promising, like all AI tools, it may not always get everything right.
Still, it represents a major step forward in helping users automate more complex digital tasks.
Perplexity is also targeting businesses. It recently launched a special enterprise version and is said to be in talks to raise up to $1 billion from investors, with its value now estimated at around $18 billion.
