When 1byone asked if they could sent us a Bluetooth light bulb to review, I honestly laughed. Really? A lightbulb? Okay… Well, once I got it and screwed it into an outlet, I was actually a little surprised.

The LED light bulb isn’t going to be a permanent replacement for any lighting around the house. It’s bright enough to serve as a secondary light, or a novelty one.

Ideal uses obviously would be for things like a Halloween setup or at parties. Maybe even mood-lighting, if you know what I mean. On top of this, the light has a built-in speaker as well, which is pretty loud ONCE you figure out how to get it going. The speaker is actually pretty good and carries decent bass, as well as crisp audio.

The light actually uses 2 volume sliders, the one your phone has and one that is in the app. This took a little figuring out. At first I didn’t think it was going to be loud enough to be practical, but after finding the second volume slider, I was able to get it up to full power. The app itself will take some fiddling with to get the light to be bright as possible as well. So while the tech is really cool, there will be some significant fine-tuning to really get things right.

Overall, the light bulb is hilariously awesome and a blast to screw around with, the utility on it is pretty amazing overall and besides some app-based difficulties, I have nothing but good things to say about it. [letsreview postid=”45356″]
