Samsung’s new Freestyle+ projector uses AI to light up your wall
Samsung is lighting up the future with the Freestyle+, a portable projector that’s twice as bright and packed with AI innovations.

Samsung is rolling into CES 2026 with a refreshed Freestyle portable projector, now called the Freestyle+, and it’s basically a brighter, smarter version of the cute little can-style projector you’ve seen all over
Samsung says the Freestyle+ is now twice as bright as the last model, hitting 430 ISO lumens, which should make a noticeable difference if you’re trying to throw a movie on a wall that isn’t perfectly dark.
You still get the same compact design, 180-degree swivel, and 360-degree audio, so it’s meant to be tossed around the house or taken on trips instead of living permanently on a TV stand.
Smarter auto-adjust and AI tricks
Earlier Freestyle units already did auto focus and auto leveling, but Freestyle+ leans harder into Samsung’s AI stack with what it calls AI OptiScreen.
That adds 3D auto keystone for fixing warped images on janky or uneven walls, real-time focus when you move the projector, automatic screen fit with compatible accessories, and wall calibration to tone down visual noise from whatever surface you’re using.
It will also plug into Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, so expect more software tie-ins on the smart features front.

Audio and ecosystem perks
On the audio side, Freestyle+ supports Samsung’s Q-Symphony feature, meaning it can sync with select Samsung soundbars instead of relying only on its built-in 360-degree speakers.
For anyone already in the Samsung TV/soundbar ecosystem, that makes this feel less like a toy projector and more like a flexible extra “screen” for the setup you already own.
Launch window and availability
Samsung isn’t talking price yet and isn’t giving a firm ship date, but it says Freestyle+ is slated for the first half of 2026 with a staggered global rollout.
More detailed specs and hands-on time should land once the company shows it off properly on the CES 2026 show floor in Las Vegas.
