SEGA is jumping on the nostalgia bandwagon with the announcement of SEGA Forever, a push that will bring some of the company’s best games to your mobile device.
The games are free to play with ads splashed in here and there. Offline support is available and users can even save game progress to the cloud. Users can remove ads with a one-time $1.99 purchase.
SEGA Forever’s collection is being launched with five titles which include, Sonic The Hedgehog, Phantasy Star II, Comix Zone, Kid Chameleon and Altered Beast. All of these are already available on both the Google Play Store and the App Store for iOS devices.
The best part about all of this is that SEGA is planning on including more games to the collection. New games will be added every two weeks. The company plans to cover multiple console generations over time, so it’s just not limited to the SEGA console.
It’s good to see SEGA doing this, especially right after Nintendo did sort of the same thing with Super Mario Run and the NES Mini Classic. Either way, it’s about time SEGA decided to this. I know I appreciate it and I’m sure other SEGA fans will too.
