The concept of 3D printing is revolutionizing not just the printing industry, but also the manufacturing sector. What was once a fantasy has now become a reality and 2/3s of manufacturers have adopted, or are in the processing of adopting, 3D printing in some way or another. Incredibly, only 2% of large companies have no plans to implement 3d printing.

In the aerospace industry, 3D printing has the potential to save up to $3.4 billion in maintenance, repair & operation costs. When you look at the potential savings, it seems a no-brainer that these techniques will be implemented sooner rather than later.

The 3D printing process is a fascinating one and the technology has already produced items such as skulls, crowns for chipped teeth aircraft parts, and even chocolate. This is only the beginning of what we can do.

The benefits of 3D printing are far reaching but one of the most obvious benefits it provides is the ability to print a concept in days, for something that would have previously taken months.
