Alexa is coming to Amazon tablets and it starts with the all new Fire HD 8.


Alexa fans rejoice, Amazon is adding Alexa to its tablets.

The company announced today their all new Fire HD 8. The specs aren’t anything that special, but the main takeaway here is the addition of Alexa.

Here’s some of the specs below: 

  • 8-inch HD Display (1280 x 800, 189 ppi)
  • Quad-core 1.3 Ghz processor
  • 1.5 GB RAM (50 percent more than previous tablet)
  • 16 GB and 32 GB storage options
  • 4,750 mAh battery (12 hours mixed use)
  • Front and rear cameras
  • Dolby Stereo speakers
  • 2x more durable than an iPad mini

Amazon Fire HD 8

To utilize Alexa, all users have to do is long press the home button while connected to a Wi-Fi network and from there, simply ask Alexa to check the status of your Amazon package or something easy like playing a song.

According to Amazon, the Fire HD 10, Fire, and last year’s HD 8 will get the Alexa update in the next coming months.

You can pre-order the all new Fire HD 8 now for $89. It comes in black, magenta, blue, and tangerine. The device ships out September 21.
