Google released its AI note-taking app, NotebookLM, for Android and iOS devices. This comes just a day before the company’s big annual tech event, Google I/O 2025.

When NotebookLM was first launched in 2023, it could only be used on desktop computers.

Now, with the new mobile version, it is much more convenient for students, professionals, and anyone who wants help organizing or understanding complex information.

NotebookLM acts like a smart research assistant. You can upload documents, PDFs, notes, or even share websites and YouTube videos with it.

Once you do, the app can create summaries, help you ask questions about the content, and even generate a clear explanation of tough topics.

Think of it as having a personal tutor who can break down complex material for you.

One new feature of the app is Audio Overviews. Based on your uploaded material, NotebookLM creates an AI-generated audio summary that explains the key points.

This is helpful for people who prefer listening to information while multitasking. The app supports background playback and offline access, so you can listen even without an internet connection.

With the mobile app, you can also create new notebooks, browse existing ones, and view all your uploaded content.

When you’re reading something on your device, like a blog post, article, or watching a video, you can tap the share icon and send it directly to NotebookLM to be stored and analyzed later.

The app is also designed to match your phone’s appearance, switching between light and dark modes depending on your system settings.

Because the launch is so close to Google I/O, it’s likely that Google will share more updates or features during its keynote presentation.

But for now, Google’s NotebookLM is more accessible and useful than ever, allowing users to study, organize, and understand information more easily, right from their smartphones.
