Is this 9-volt keychain smartphone charger really worth it?

Plan V is a ideal solution to the traditional smartphone charger. It’s an adapter that charges your phone with a 9-volt battery.

It’s no secret that smartphone battery technology has lacked any major advancements, other than being able to charge them super-fast. Sure, you could always buy one of those battery-backups, but if you’re like me, you forget to charge them ahead of time. They also take up some prime pocket real estate, too.

Your other option is carrying your charger around with you all the time, but then you’re just one of those people always on the prowl for an outlet. No thank you.

If you’re looking for an easier fix, Flintu has a slightly easier solution. Flintu is a keyring-sized device that charges your phone with a 9-volt battery. They’re coining the product as Plan V.

This thing is really tiny, too. You could fit it right on your key chain.

OK, so this eliminates the need for carrying a phone charger or an extra battery pack, but now you’ll just have to carry around a 9-volt battery, not to mention buying one.  I mean seriously, when’s the last time you bought a 9-volt battery?

On the other hand, I guess it’s another solution to our smartphone battery blues.

You didn’t answer the question if this thing is worth it. How much did it recharge your phone? 9-volt batteries are available at any convenience store.

Personally I never tried it so I wouldn’t be able to give it a fair answer in that aspect. However, I can tell you now that I wouldn’t want to be walking around with a 9-volt battery in my pocket all the time. Honestly, I don’t think it would be worth it for me.
