Nike just dumped a whole lot of future on us, and honestly, we’re not sure if we should be excited or terrified.
The swoosh giant unveiled three wildly different projects that feel like they were pulled from three different sci-fi movies. Here’s what the sneaker company is up to.
Project Amplify is basically Iron Man boots for casual joggers.
These robo-shoes pack a motor, mechanical arm, and battery ring that literally pulls your heel up with each step.
Nike’s targeting “middle-of-the-road” runners (ouch, the shade) who clock 10-12 minute miles.
The mechanical boost is supposed to help you run longer without dying, with a 2028 launch date that feels both forever away and terrifyingly soon.
Then there’s Sense, Nike’s first “neuroscience-based” footwear that sounds like something a wellness influencer would shill.
These shoes have 22 foam nubs per sole that poke your feet to simulate barefoot walking while keeping you protected.
It’s Nike’s Mind Science Department’s debut product, because apparently they have a Mind Science Department now. Two designs drop in January for those ready to get their feet massaged while jogging.
Finally, Aero-Fit takes a surprisingly normal approach—it’s just really good athletic wear made from chemically recycled textile waste.

The cooling, sweat-wicking apparel represents Nike’s first fully recycled performance line, with soccer jerseys hitting shelves in summer 2026.
So we’ve got cyborg shoes, brain shoes, and eco-friendly shirts.
Nike’s either having an identity crisis or they’re covering all their bases for whatever dystopian future we’re heading toward. Either way, our wallets aren’t ready.
