The development studio behind the space exploration title, No Man’s Sky, announced that they would be bringing the game’s most significant update next to an Xbox One launch. Not many details are out there in the update, which is being called No Man’s Sky NEXT. We do know, however, that the update will be free and will introduce quick-travel, land vehicles, and base building.
“We called this update NEXT, because it’s an important next step on a longer journey for us and the community. We’ve been working our socks off on this and it’s by far our biggest update so far. It will be free to existing players, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future.” – Hello Games’ co-founder, Sean Murray.
No Man’s Sky has been available on PlayStation 4 as an exclusive, and now it will be landing on Microsoft’s Xbox One console. The game will be enhanced for Xbox One X systems along with HDR and 4K support. Xbox players who purchase the game will receive the entire expansion set, including Foundation, Pathfinder, and Atlas Rises.
No Man’s Sky has been on a wild ride, as the marketing phase of the game often held more lies than truth promising features that were never included. Players pushed Hello Games into a controversy as gamers were unhappy with the game they were guaranteed. Now, almost two years later, it seems like Hello Games is trying to make right on their promise.
