If you are looking to try Metal Gear Survive to see if it’s worth it before you invest, this weekend is your chance. The Metal Gear Survive beta is now available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but it is only available until Sunday, January 21.
Metal Gear Survive is the first game in the series without creator and developer Hideo Kojima.
Metal Gear Survive takes place between Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. Instead of being hyper-focused of stealth and aggressive strategies, you now have to worry about survival.
The game revolves around zombie-like creatures in an alternate dimension. You also have to scavenge for food and other typical survival-esque tasks. Work with teammates, create defenses, and find a way to get back home.
The games’ engine works off of the same one as Metal Gear Solid V‘s, so it should play and feel similar.
The biggest difference is that there is no health.
After you complete a mission, you receive new supplies and schematics you can use moving forward. Right off the bat it sounds familiar to Fortnite‘s story mode but seems interesting nonetheless.
Metal Gear Survive comes with three missions, two maps, and live events. If you participate in the beta this weekend, you will receive exclusive in-game items if you decide to pick up the game on February 20. Good luck and happy surviving!
