Spotify is giving folks in the UK free Google Home Mini’s if they’re subscribed to its family plan

If you live in the UK and subscribe to Spotify’s Family plan, the company wants to give you a free Google Home Mini. The offer is open to new and existing users living in the UK, and you have up until May 14th to claim your free device. Either that or until supplies run out, the company states on its website.

If this offer sounds familiar, you’re not wrong. Spotify extended a very similar offer to folks living in the US back in October, which you can imagine got gobbled up really quick. We’re guessing to see the same result with this offer in the UK.

Spotify’s family plan costs £14.99 per month in the UK, and it allows up to six family members with access to the music streaming service. The good thing about the Google Home Mini is that it’s able to recognize each person’s voice thanks to Google’s Voice Match feature. Meaning, you won’t have to worry about getting your family members playlists all mixed up in Spotify. Google Home will know who’s barking commands at it.

This offer is available starting today and is available for family’s living at the same address. Spotify is limiting one Google Home Mini per household, while supplies last. This offer is only available for residents living in the UK. Google handles all the shipping and handling costs.

Freebies are always nice and with Apple Music gaining in popularity, Spotify’s offer is a good one and one that can’t be matched. The $349 Apple HomePod is the only Apple Music-compatible smart speaker to date. In other words, don’t expect Apple to “match” this offer anytime soon!
