You can now get Hulu for free with a Spotify Premium subscription
I mean, you can always sign up with a new email address.
Just a heads up, if you buy something through our links, we may get a small share of the sale. It’s one of the ways we keep the lights on here. Click here for more.
Spotify Premium is already one of the best music streaming subscriptions and now it’s getting even better. Starting today, new Spotify Premium subscribers can get Hulu’s ad-supported tier for free. That plan is normally $5.99 per month, making your $9.99 Spotify Premium subscription a hella good value.
To sign up, head on over to the Spotify offer page, which will walk you through the process. Once your account is active, make sure you go into your account settings and activate Hulu on the Your Services page. If you’re already a Spotify+Hulu subscriber, your billing will be changed to the new $9.99 price, from the $12.99 prior pricing.
If you have a Hulu account but want to take advantage of this offer, you can. Just sign up, then cancel your billing on Hulu and swap it to Spotify. You’ll only be able to do it if you’re on a basic, ad-supported Hulu account with no added extras.
Current Spotify Premium members can’t reap the benefits, however
Editor’s Note: Even though Spotify claims you must be a new Spotify Premium subscriber, multiple sources, including writers at KnowTechie, have been able to sign up for Hulu using the link provided.
Unfortunately, if you’ve previously subscribed to Spotify Premium, are a current subscriber or have previously had a free trial that ran out, you’re out of luck for the offer. Of course, there’s nothing stopping you from setting up a new Spotify account on a new email…
You must be new to Spotify Premium. If you currently subscribe, or have subscribed previously, to either Spotify Premium or the Spotify Unlimited service or have taken a trial or introductory offer previously, you are ineligible for this offer.
You’re also ineligible if you’re on a Family plan or a Student one. Then again, I don’t know why you’d want to change if you’re on a Student plan, you get Spotify Premium, Hulu’s ad-supported tier and Showtime for $4.99 a month.
Anyone else getting the feeling that this bundling of streaming services is a little too close to the bundled cable services that we cord cut to avoid? I guess as long as the pricing doesn’t skyrocket it’s not quite the same, and it’s still separate companies.
Oh, Spotify subscribers outside of the USA – sorry, you’re unable to take advantage of this deal either. Spotify says it’ll run the promotion until June 10, or until supplies last.
Editor’s Note: This post was updated on March 12th to reflect anyone with an existing Spotify Premium account can get Hulu’s basic plan for free as well.
