Spotify just made finding local concerts way less annoying
Spotify’s new venue-following feature makes live music discovery a breeze. It’s like having a psychic DJ—just don’t expect cheaper ticket prices.

Just a heads up, if you buy something through our links, we may get a small share of the sale. It’s one of the ways we keep the lights on here. Click here for more.
Spotify is finally getting serious about turning your music obsession into actual IRL experiences, and honestly, it’s about damn time.
The streaming giant just rolled out venue following—because apparently we needed another thing to follow on the internet—but this one might actually be useful.
Follow your favorite venues to add them to your library. Once added, you’ll have easy access to their upcoming shows and event calendars.
You can filter events by genre to find exactly what you’re looking for—whether that’s indie folk, jazz, or any other style of music.

On top of that, Spotify cranked up their live event feed from weekly to daily updates, which means you’ll know about that surprise show before your cooler friends do.
They’re playing matchmaker between you and Live Nation/Ticketmaster for tickets, though they’re keeping it classy and not trying to become another middleman after their 2022 direct sales experiment apparently didn’t set the world on fire.
The real MVP move? Their “Concerts Near You” playlist drops 30 tracks from artists actually performing in your area, complete with show deets.
Meanwhile, SoundCloud is desperately trying to keep up with their own Ticketmaster partnership, but let’s be honest, Spotify just made discovering live music feel less like work and more like magic.
Now if only they could make concert tickets less expensive…
