With a release date set on Steam for Q4 2024, Mr. Podunkian, a former Stardew Valley developer, has teased another video of “Windwaker style wind whirlies” for us to gawp at.
He published the 30-second video on X (formerly Twitter) on April 23 and has regularly provided updates on the game’s development status.
What is Sunkissed City?
For those of you who have played Stardew Valley, the concept is fairly similar. Sunkissed City presents a new life for you to settle into in Apollo City, “a sun-kissed seaside metropolis”.
You’ll need to make friends, learn new skills, and bring life back to the city by tending to gardens, fishing, and decorating your home—the usual stuff you can expect from an indie sim.
We’ve seen plenty of updates from Mr. Podunkian, including an Animal Crossing style Aquarium where you can donate the fish you’ve caught, rideable bikes, an open-air hot spring, and lots more.
When will Sunkissed City be released?
While a date is not currently set in stone, Mr. Podunkian has said “I’m aiming for a Q4 2024 release on PC and hopefully consoles soon thereafter!”.
Fingers crossed we’ll continue to see regular updates from the developer.
