Here active listening earbuds let your control the sounds heard around you

What if you could tweak and customize the sounds of the world around you? These ‘Here’ active listening headphones can do that!

Imagine being able to control and personalize the sounds heard around you? For example, at a concert, on the subway, or at home watching a movie. What if you could use headphones to tweak or enhance the sound around for a better listening experience? That’s exactly what one Kickstarter project is looking to achieve.

If you’re wondering exactly what it is, Here Active Listening is essentially a pair of headphones intended to help you control what you hear and how you hear it.

Let’s say for instance you’re on the subway trying to read a book, but as in most cases, the train is insanely too loud to concentrate. Pull out Here’s smartphone app and turn the volume knob down to cancel out any outside noise, essentially removing noise from your life.

It should be worth noting that ‘Here’ is not intended to play traditional music found on your phone. According to its Kickstarter page:

“Here does not stream or play recorded music. Instead, the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) inside Here acts as a studio in your ears by providing you with a volume knob, equalizer and effects to transform real world audio. Use this ‘remote control for your ears’ to have an optimal listening experience every time.”

‘Here’ is currently being crowd funded on Kickstarter with a goal of $250,000. They have 28 days left. If successfully funded, units are expected to ship out August 2015. To learn more about the project, check out the video below or visit their Kickstarter page.
