Apple released the iPhone 14 series in September 2022, which includes the vanilla iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

While these devices have been out for a couple of years, some iPhone 14 Plus users recently started facing problems with the device’s camera.

The affected devices don’t show any preview in the camera app while using the rear camera of the iPhone 14 Plus.

Thankfully, Apple has acknowledged the existence of the issue and announced that it will repair the iPhone 14 Plus for free if it has a camera preview problem through a new repair program.

Apple has introduced a new repair program to fix iPhone 14 Plus phones with back cameras that do not provide a preview.

The iPhone 14 Plus launched in 2022 was the first Plus model after the company switched to Face ID from the Home button that offered a large screen without paying a premium for the Pro Max model.

Apple has discovered that the rear camera on a very tiny fraction of iPhone 14 Plus devices may not provide a preview.

The company says that only devices manufactured between April 10, 2023, and April 28, 2024 (via The Verge) are affected by the issue, meaning the issue is limited to a very specific batch of iPhone 14 Plus models.

If your iPhone 14 Plus is affected, you can check to see if it is by entering your serial number on the program page.

Apple or an authorized service provider will repair your phone for free. If you’ve already paid to have the camera repaired, Apple says you should contact them to see if you can get a refund.

Apple will offer a free repair program to all the affected iPhone 14 Plus models for three years after they were originally sold.
