Select Nothing smartphones are receiving Google’s Circle to search feature with Nothing OS 3.0 update.

The Circle to Search feature is one of the most impactful additions to Android and was unveiled at the start of 2024 alongside the Galaxy S24 series launch.

Initially exclusive to select Google Pixel and flagship Samsung Galaxy devices, the feature gradually rolled out to more brands, including Xiaomi, Oppo, and Motorola.

Recently, Nothing has joined this expanding list, bringing Circle to Search to its devices running the latest Nothing OS.

Nothing Phone 2 and Phone 2a duo gets Circle to Search feature

According to a community post on the official website, the Circle to Search feature is now available on the Phone 2, Phone 2a, and Phone 2a Plus with the Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.0, following additional testing.

This delayed release explains why the feature was absent from the initial stable rollout of Nothing OS 3.0.

You can enable Circle to Search on your Nothing Phone by navigating to Settings > Special features > Gestures > Navigation mode > Circle to Search

If the option isn’t visible, Nothing recommends rebooting the device and checking again. The feature works seamlessly with both gesture navigation and 3-button navigation modes.

Other Nothing phones will receive Circle to Search with subsequent updates to Nothing OS 3.0. While not explicitly mentioned, it’s expected to arrive on the CMF Phone 1 with the stable Android 15 update.

Circle to Search simplifies screen-based searches like looking up definitions, identifying places, translating text in images, and obtaining navigation directions by simply circling the item of interest.

This approach is more intuitive and efficient than manually copying content and pasting it into Google Lens.

Google has continuously enhanced the feature since its launch, introducing capabilities like song search and experimenting with searching within video content.
