Gamescom is underway and with it comes new gameplay footage of the upcoming Need for Speed Heat.

We first covered this game last week when it was announced, and now we have some actual gameplay footage to go with the video that accompanied last week’s announcement. Another bonus, it will apparently never contain loot boxes.

Ok, yes yes yes. This looks good. I’ve been a fan of the NFS series for like a decade now, but as gaming became bigger and titles had more to do, the series lost some of that magic for me. This new game seems to keep everything that made the older titles fun, while adding new features to keep it interesting.

For me, I love designing and showing off cars, but that could be tough if you didn’t have friends to say “hey, peep this.” Heat addresses that to allow for crews, where you and your buddies can showcase your latest cars in the garage.

Another interesting feature coming to the title is how the feel of the game changes depending on the time of day. During the day, the focus seems to be on legit racing, but once the lights (and Sun) go down, it’s time to heat the streets for those illegal street races – cops and all.

Make sure to watch the full trailer above, it’s definitely looking good! Need for Speed Heat releases on November 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
