Google announced its latest Pixel 9 series phones in August. But it seems the launch wasn’t without a hiccup. The new phones have recently started reaching the hands of consumers, and they are coming with a fair share of troubling issues.

A few weeks ago, we reported camera tilt and wireless charging issues specific to the Pixel 9 Pro XL model; now, we have a case of broken notifications.

Delayed notifications on Pixel phones are nothing new. In recent years, users have complained about delayed notifications from their apps with their Pixel 6 series, 7, and 8.

However, Google’s newest flagships have an entirely different notification issue, likely due to a bug. Notifications are not coming to Pixel 9 phones at all.

According to several Reddit threads and a Google Community discussion, Google Home notifications from Nest devices are bricked for several users.

So, if you have a Nest device, such as a doorbell or a camera, you may suddenly stop getting notifications on your Google Pixel 9 series phone.

The saddest part is that the issue seems to be plaguing many Google Pixel 9 units. The folks at 9to5Google have reported the same issue with their Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold

This doesn’t look good for Google, and this isn’t the first issue on the Google Pixel 9 series phones. The company was already struggling to fix the existing notification issue, and a new one has arrived (unlike the notifications.)

There’s a temporary fix for the Google Home notification issue on Pixel 9 phones

Google has yet to acknowledge the issue officially, but in the meantime, you can use our temporary fix to resolve the broken Google Home notifications on the Pixel 9.

Multiple users have claimed that clearing the Google Home app’s data and cache and deleting and reinstalling it fixes the issue.

However, the catch is that this method doesn’t work for everyone. You can still try the above methods. Otherwise, you can try switching notifications for the Google Home app off and on again from the settings.

Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed way to resolve this problem at the moment. We hope that Google develops a fix as soon as possible.
