Days after we heard the news that the iPhone SE 4 with a new design will launch next year, a new leak surfaced online revealing the device’s specifications. Moreover, another report suggests Apple has already begun sourcing OLED displays for the next iPhone SE.
Folks over at 9to5Mac claim they have gained details about what to expect from the iPhone SE 4 from a reliable source. Besides this, a report from a Taiwanese supply chain publication states that Apple is already looking for OLED displays for the next-gen iPhone SE.
iPhone SE 4 key specifications leaks
As per the report, the upcoming iPhone SE model will look similar to the iPhone 14, featuring flat sides and an OLED panel with a notch. It will have the same 6.1-inch display with 1170×2532 resolution as the iPhone 14.
While this means you won’t get the Dynamic Island, the new iPhone SE will finally ditch the Home Button with Touch ID for a notch with Face ID. Moreover, the device will feature an A18 bionic chip with 8GB RAM, the same as the iPhone 16, and will support Apple Intelligence.
For photography, the iPhone SE 4 will include the same 48MP wide-angle camera and 12MP front-facing camera as the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. However, the report says the new SE won’t feature an ultrawide lens or telephoto shooter.
Lastly, the iPhone SE 4 will be the first phone to feature Apple’s first 5G modem. Although Apple intends to add its own modem to all of its smartphones in the future, the company first chose to include it in the iPhone SE 4 as an experiment.
Separately, a report suggests that Apple has reportedly begun sourcing OLED panels for the next-gen iPhone SE. According to DigiTimes (via MacRumors), Apple has already begun looking for OLED panels for the iPhone SE 4 from BOE and other Chinese manufacturers.
