iPhone fans were really disappointed after the news broke that the upcoming iPhone 15 series won’t have an official leather case. Now, it looks like there will be at least a leather-like option for the iPhone 15 buyers.

After it was revealed that Apple was ditching the official leather case, it was highly likely that the company was going to replace it with something like faux leather on the shelves of Apple Stores all over the globe.

The recent leak ahead of the September launch has revealed that is indeed the case, pun intended. However, the leak comes with a warning for fans of the leather cases.

iPhone 15 cases might feel different

Prominent Apple leaker Majin Bu has shared images of these so-called leather-like iPhone cases on Twitter, now X.

The leaker has also clarified that the cases showcased in the images aren’t made by Apple but are based on the original models. He also told us to expect the new cases to “have a different texture” than the previous leather iPhone cases.

Unlike the previous leather material, we suspect the new cases are made from environmentally friendly materials.

According to Apple’s product page, the current leather premium iPhone cases are “made from specially tanned and finished leather. The outside feels soft to the touch and develops a natural patina over time.”

We are also not sure whether these new cases will be available for the iPhone 15 Pro models. All the iPhone-related case leaks have mentioned only the iPhone 15 with no mention of the iPhone 15 Pro models. However, the likely scenario is the same cases will be available for the Pro models on the launch day.

The iPhone 15 series launch day is likely the 12th or 13th of September, so we won’t have to wait too long for it.
