When Razer isn’t busy making toasters for eager fans, the company is apparently working on some sick collabs with Disney and Star Wars.
Announced this week, Razer is making a handful of Star Wars-inspired peripherals that include a mechanical keyboard, Razer Atheris mouse, and an extra-long mouse mat so you can sling that mouse all over your desk.
The star of the show is definitely the Razer Blackwidow Lite mechanical keyboard with Star Wars branding. The bright white base and black keys work perfectly together and the Stormtrooper graphic all fit perfectly with the design. It’s just the right amount of fanfare without being gaudy.
Using Razer’s mechanical switches and keycap o-rings, you get all the benefits in the feel of a mechanical keyboard without too much of that signature clickity-clack-clack.
Other Star Wars options from Razer
In addition to the Blackwidow keyboard, Razer is also introducing a themed Razer Atheris mouse and a gaming mouse mat for gamers that want the full suite of peripherals. The mouse is a little bit too branded for my tastes, but I’m sure there are plenty of others that will appreciate resting their palm on a Stormtrooper’s helmet.
The mouse mat looks good and with a width of around 36 inches, there will be plenty of room for your keyboard and a large mouse area. The frame of the mat uses anti-fray stitching and the bottom is non-slip rubber to make sure everything stays in place.
