Sinemia gives MoviePass a gut punch with a $4.99 per month subscription plan
The battle to get your ass in the movie theater has begun.
Just a heads up, if you buy something through our links, we may get a small share of the sale. It’s one of the ways we keep the lights on here. Click here for more.
Look out MoviePass, Sinemia is here to steal some of your glory. Sinemia is a MoviePass competitor that launched in Europe four years ago, and today, they’re launching $4.99 per month subscription plan, reports TechCrunch.
For those of you out of the loop, MoviePass and Sinemia are both subscription services for movie tickets. Users sign up for a specific tier of service which gives them cheap movie tickets on demand. For example, MoviePass’s $9.99 per month subscription lets users watch almost an unlimited number of movies every month (one per day).
Today, Senemia introduced its new low-cost plans:
- $4.99 per month: one ticket per month
- $6.99 per month: two tickets per month
- $6.99 per month: two tickets per month including 3D, 4D and IMAX
- $14.99 per month: three tickets per month including 3D, 4D and IMAX
“Not everyone really needs an unlimited moviegoing experience,” Oguz told TechCrunch. “The average in the U.S. is four movies per year.”
One thing that sets Sinemia apart from MoviePass is that offers advanced online ticketing. With MoviePass, you have to physically be in the movie theater to purchase your tickets. With Sinemia, you can order your tickets before you get there, as well as the option to watch movies in 3D, 4D, and IMAX.
I don’t know about you, but this sounds like MoviePass seriously needs to step up their game.
