It’s been more than two decades since we’ve seen a Streets of Rage game, but that all is changing with the new announcement for Streets of Rage 4.

From publisher DotEmu and developers Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games, this new title will follow certified badasses Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding as the kick, punch, and combo their way through waves and waves of baddies and bosses.

Not much is known about the title, down to what platforms it will appear on or when we should expect a release, but just looking at the short trailer is definitely exciting. The game keeps its same 2D side-scroller action, but the environments, characters, combos, and general art style all look solid.

Streets of Rage 1-3 were all released in the early 90s and available on SEGA Genesis, Master System, and the SEGA Game Gear. Streets of Rage, along with games like Double Dragon, help popularize the beat-em-up games of that era.

We’ll continue to update as more information is announced about Streets of Rage 4, but for now, enjoy the quick trailer above.

How excited are you for a new Streets of Rage? Do you think it will do well, or will it flop? Let us know below.
